the Shopping List

I've added a new sidebar on this blog. It's a list of things I am wanting to buy aptly titled "the Shopping List." I've added quite a few items to it. None of the stuff on there is a necessity, therefore it may take a while for me to acquire any one item on the list. When I do, I suppose I will be obligated to blog about it. I think this is a good method to curb my desire to buy. I've never been an impulse buyer to start off, but I think blogging about wanted items has a tendency to appease the need to buy, buy, buy. Hopefully I'll be in the money soon so I can actually start purchasing my long desired items.

Color Palette

I've been looking online (mostly GettyImages) for pictures that pretty much sum up the interior color palette that I've naturally created for myself throughout the years. I feel like I'm more or less taking three different color palettes and have been combining them into one really big one. I guess because I can't decide on which one I like the best. There's the black & white. Then there's the neutrals with a blue accent. Lastly, the bright, bold pink, orange, (yellow) & green! I've been working concsciously lately to get some more white and neutrals to balance out my affinity for magenta. I need some nice white sheets and white duvet cover.

Princess and the Pea Daybeds

Ever since last summer I've been really getting into interior design. I have been really lusting to get a space of my own and decorate the heck out of it. Apartment Therapy is on my list of frequented sites, and I check it almost compulsively. I've gotten a ton of great ideas and have been inspired on countless occasions.

This time I am struck by these "Princess and the Pea" style daybeds/divans. I love the whole mismatched and layered quality to it. Plus they look so comfy.

The first one is a the Princess aux petit pois divan by Caravane a Parisian company apparently, and the second is the Princess Daybed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien.

I think it would make a great DIY project. I definitely have my own take on the idea but I'm seriously thinking of incorporating it into my redesign scheme for my room. I'm currently hashing out the logistics of the project. Hopefully I'll be able to bring my vision to fruition during spring break, which happens to be in two weeks...

Where has all the time gone?

Fuji Instax Mini

So I've been keeping an eye out for good deals on the Fuji Instax Mini.

I was keeping an eye on an eBay bid, but I missed the auction close because I was doing my homework. I feel ambivalent about that...

I really want the camera, but I'm not sure if I really need it right now. I'm kind of low on on the moo-la so I can't really justify spending any money for a novelty/luxury item at this point. (Especially after I splurged on a leather bag and shoes not too long ago.)

I'm thinking I'll be in better shape once I graduate...
Hopefully I'll be in better shape once I graduate.
I've only got a couple more months to suffer through and then I'll be free of this institution.

I am just not cut out for school.

Playing Catch-UP

So, there's been some serious downtime since the last time I wrote in this blog, and a lot has happened since I last blogged.

I have lost my passion for dolls. I think it was just time. I really can't help but notice that I have a really hard time sticking to one thing. The beginning is always the most exciting part for me. The interest peaks and it's always downhill from there. Interestingly enough I feel that BJDs were a rather long-lived hobby considering my rather flaky nature. I've said my good-byes to the doll hobby and I've been without for a while now.

I've been seriously looking for a new thing ever since I effectively quit dolls. I haven't really decided on anything. I just don't think anything has really piqued my interest thus far. I've been looking for inspiration and I've been frequenting fashion and interior design blogs. Maybe I'll seriously consider something along those lines.

In any case, I've decided that Bulb-UP! will be my official hobby blog. I can't make a new blog for every hobby I take up. That would just be too cumbersome. So, when I do decide on something it'll be here that I will pontificate on the subject.

I just hope I find something soon. Wish me luck.
